Morning Meeting:

After we sang the morning song we opened the window and talked about the rain. The kids leaned over the windowsill and listened to the sound of it. Pearson thought we should leave the window open all day so we could hear the rain. Then we sat and read a Babbar yoga book. Then we all decided to get on our rain gear and go play in the rain. Dalila took the kids down the block where they splashed in puddles until their boots were filled with water!

Snack Time:

We had popcorn today for snack- which was Addison's idea. It was the perfect snack for coming in to out of the rain.

Outside Play:

We played in the rain for quite a while- they had a blast and it improved some kids' moods- sometimes we just need to be outside no matter what the weather is like!

Project Work:

The kids, after getting on some dry clothes, went into the reading room where we read books until lunch time.

Rest Time/ Focused Work:

Kieran and Elijah built train tracks together until it was time to do focus work. When Pearson came out of the quiet room it was time for focus work. Pearson got work geared towards hearing sounds within words, and math concepts. Elijah's work was targeting spelling and fine motor control, and Keiran, too, had work for fine motor control. Afterwards Elijah and Pearson each got an empty basket. We went on a hunt around the school that had both short and long 'A' sounds

Free Play:

In the morning we put together some puzzles. Pearson and Elijah played with some motorcycle toys. Dalila read Christmas stories to everyone out of a big wonderful book. Addison went around finding things to look at through the kaleidescope. Lilly 'made tea' for everyone and handed out cups.
